What stays on your device

The app stores your history, favorites, playlists, download status, selected media source, playback queue and theme locally in this browser. Stored records contain a source URL or search phrase and media metadata. IndexedDB stores the library; localStorage stores small player state, preferences and privacy choices. Temporary stream URLs are excluded. Recent search suggestions and playback positions are optional and off until you enable them. NexStream does not set an advertising cookie. There is no account or cross-device sync in this phase.

YouTube feeds, searches and playlists

NexStream requests the public most-popular feed, video searches, playlist searches and public playlist tracks from the official YouTube Data API v3 only after you explicitly agree to this Privacy Policy through the discovery gate or Privacy choices. The version of that agreement is stored only in localStorage on this browser; no API request is made before agreement. You can revoke it in Privacy choices, which stops future feed, search and playlist requests. When you enter a search phrase after agreeing, NexStream sends it from its server to Google; choosing a fixed category also sends the associated query or feed request. Google receives the query and server request metadata under its applicable terms and privacy notices. The YOUTUBE_API_KEY is stored as a server secret and is not sent to your browser. Successful feed/search/playlist pages are held in a bounded process-memory cache for up to six hours to reduce quota use; they are not written to a database or browser storage as discovery-result caches. The cache clears when the server process restarts. Local process quota counters are safety limits only; Google’s project quota remains authoritative.

External thumbnail images

When a search or local history card displays a YouTube thumbnail, your browser loads that image directly from YouTube’s image host. The image host can receive the image request, including your IP address and request time. NexStream sets a no-referrer policy for the image and does not proxy it. Local history metadata remains in this browser.

What is sent to resolve media

When you select a YouTube result or submit a public media URL, NexStream sends the exact source URL and selected MP3/MP4 format through its server-side media proxy to the Silva Tech Nexus public API. The proxy validates input, applies a simple best-effort rate limit and forwards the request. The service and source platform may receive request data under their own terms and privacy notices. The upstream service may cache repeated resolves for up to 10 minutes.

Temporary streams and downloads

A returned download URL is used in memory for the current playback or transfer only. NexStream does not write it to IndexedDB, localStorage or the download history. The link may contain a temporary token and should not be shared or modified. The browser may use its own temporary cache while playing or downloading.

Privacy and cookie choices

NexStream does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Privacy choices and the versioned online-discovery agreement are saved locally in this browser. You can revoke discovery consent any time in Privacy choices; this stops future API requests but does not erase your personal library. You can also opt in to remembering up to eight recent searches and playback positions, or leave both off. Turning an optional choice off removes its saved search suggestions or position keys from this browser. The app’s platform-level analytics injection is disabled for this project; hosting, CDN or service providers may still keep operational and security logs.

Retention and deletion

The library is local to this browser. Clear items from Library or Downloads where available, or clear the site’s browser storage to remove the remaining local records. The server’s in-memory YouTube result cache expires within six hours and is not a user account or central library database. A media resolve request is processed to answer your action; this app does not create a personal cloud library.
